Welcome to SUNY Sullivan’s CareerFocus, a publication that highlights a number of the college’s two-year academic degree, one-year and one-semester certificate programs, and non-credit courses that are career and technical in nature. This publication is underwritten by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education grant.
SUNY Sullivan is committed to helping you plan for the future, whether you’re looking to land your first job, transfer to a four-year college or university, change careers, or enhance your personal and professional skills.
Our 405-acre campus features a series of nine interconnected buildings plus the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse. The Lazarus I. Levine Residence Hall and the EcoGreen Townhouses, both located just steps from campus, provide housing for nearly 400 students. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at SUNY Sullivan. Our commitment to environmental and social responsibility informs everything from our campus operations to our curriculum.
We have been incorporating sustainable practices into our campus operations for many years, including a geothermal system to heat and cool our buildings and, more recently, installation of a 3 kW photovoltaic array and 2.5 kW wind turbine for hands-on renewable energy training. SUNY Sullivan entered into a power purchase agreement with Sullivan Solar Garden, LLC, which included the installation of a nine-acre,
2.15 MW solar farm on campus.
Our students collect and compost over 3,000 pounds of food scraps each year using an on-campus forced air compost area. We have an organic community garden, a straw bale garden shed and are partners with New Hope Community, Inc. on the Hope Farm. Sustainability is also visible through our extra-curricular activities, as students participate in our Bike Share Program, and receive scholarships to work the gardens.
We hope you like what you see. Visit our website at www.sunysullivan.edu to find out even more about us. If you’re interested in scheduling a tour or meeting with one of our Admissions staff, please call 845-434-5750, ext. 4287. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
