SUNY Sullivan is pleased to announce the schedule for the new season of The Met: Live in HD series, which kicks off in the Seelig Theater on Saturday, October 7. The Met: Live in HD, is the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live simulcasts. It is the world’s largest provider of alternative content, reaching more than 2,000 theaters in 70 countries, including SUNY Sullivan’s Seelig Theater.

Hansel and Gretel (start – 12:55 pm)

A Met English-language holiday presentation, Richard Jones’s clever production of Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera is based on the Brothers Grimm story. Donald Runnicles conducts the sweeping score and a delightful cast, including the legendary Dolora Zajick as the wayward siblings’ mother. Tara Erraught and Ingeborg Gillebo share the role of Hansel, and Lisette Oropesa and Maureen McKay share the role of Gretel.
