The Vault: An Anthology of Student Writing

Overview

The Writing Program publishes an anthology of student writing each academic year. The anthology—called The Vault—showcases exceptional writing created in our courses, offers models for current students, and creates a potential teaching tool for instructors. An Editorial Committee of writing instructors selects the pieces for publication. Additionally, The Vault is illustrated and laid out by SUNY Sullivan Graphic Arts students and Mark Lawrence, a professor in the Graphic Arts department.

Procedure

Instructors choose worthy essays, poems, or stories from their classes and, with the permission of the student, submit them for consideration to the Editorial Committee. Instructors must note that offering or refusing to offer submissions will not affect a student’s grade in a course. To submit student work for possible publication in The Vault, students and instructors follow these steps:
