Math Tutor LPP (Part-Time)

The Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) was established in 1988 to ensure that students in grades 5-12 who are at risk of dropping out of school achieve academic and personal excellence, graduate from high school, and enter post-secondary education or the workforce as highly competent young adults. The program provides supportive interventions for these students, such as skills assessment; tutoring; academic, family, and personal counseling; regents prep, and other enrichment activities. This program is funded by the NYS Education Department.

SUNY Sullivan Community College Liberty Partnerships Program supports students from the following target Schools:

  • Liberty Middle School
  • Liberty High School
  • Sullivan County BOCES
  • Monticello Central School District

We are seeking an individual who can do the following:

  • Tutor students in Math ( Algebra and Geometry)
  • The ability to tutor Living Environment and Earth Science is a plus
  • Work with other LPP team members to meet program mandates
  • Help to facilitate LPP program activities

OTHER DUTIES

  • Help to facilitate LPP workshops and other program events as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a HS diploma. Some college preferred
  • Bilingual ( Spanish/ English a plus)
  • Experience working with young people ( grades 5-12)

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; the review of resumes will be ongoing. The hiring range for this position is $16.29 to $20.65 per hour depending on experience, for a maximum of 28 hours per week, depending on the needs of the program.
