Position Description
This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biology.
The Biology Faculty member must possess the ability to teach lecture and laboratory sections of General Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Nutrition courses designed primarily for nursing and science majors but also students with other majors. Faculty members are expected to participate in curriculum development and review and serve on College-wide committees. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy and are willing to work in a collegial setting. These courses are scheduled to be taught on campus. We anticipate a Spring 2025 start date.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required
- Ph.D. preferred
- At least 3 years of teaching or equivalent experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 15 contact hours of general biology, microbiology, human anatomy and physiology and nutrition courses, as well as potential additional courses related to the applicant’s area of professional expertise.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and staff population.
- Hold appropriate office hours.
- Take part as needed in typical activities of a full-time faculty member, including the following: advising/mentoring students, developing curriculum, recruiting students and attending division and faculty meetings.

Salary is determined by a candidate’s rank at SUNY Sullivan, based on teaching experience, education, etc. The full salary range is $40,500 to $70,500.
