Sullivan Forward: Reopening Safely During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Campus Access Protocols
SUNY Sullivan remains committed to our core mission during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and has received
approval to resume limited campus operations in accordance with our approved reopening plan, Sullivan
Forward: Reopening Safely during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The following protocols must be followed by any
individual who wishes to enter a college building.
- While the campus grounds remain open for use, campus buildings remain restricted to approved individuals only. These are, only:
a. Staff who have the approval of an EC member;
b. Staff of partner agencies who have the approval of an EC member;
c. Vendors who are escorted by an approved staff member;
d. Students specifically authorized to attend a lab on campus; and
e. Any other individuals specifically authorized by an EC member. No children are to be in campus buildings.
- Individuals who have been approved to enter campus must agree to the following protocols:
a. Buildings may be entered only at designated entrances;
b. Individuals must complete a daily health screening form before entering campus;
c. All individuals must wear face coverings when they come within 6 feet of another person on campus, with the exception of individuals who reside in the same residence. Masks must be worn at all times in hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, and public spaces. The college will issue two reusable facemasks to employees and students who have been granted permission to enter campus buildings;
d. Social distancing must be maintained to the greatest extent possible; and
e. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at every designated campus entrance, in bathrooms, and at other locations around campus. Individuals on campus are required to follow hand sanitation protocols that include vigorous washing with soap and warm water, or the use of hand sanitizer.
This plan will continue to evolve as SUNY Sullivan receives updated guidance, so be sure to check for updates issued by the Office of Human Resources. Individuals who are requesting an accommodation for a disability must contact the Office of Human Resources.
NY State has established civil penalties for failure to comply with facemask guidelines that include a fine up to $1000 for individuals and penalties for employers. Employees who do not follow these guidelines will be referred to the Office of Human Resources. Students and visitors who do not follow these guidelines will be removed from campus.
