In these classes practice proven techniques from mind-body medicine that can open a window into the part of the deeper mind. Help find the authentic, but sometimes hidden, wisdom you possess.
A recent NY Times front-page headline, introduced a story about pandemic and stress, titled ‘I can’t turn my brain off’. Our brains network is devoted to replaying loops of old, sometimes threatening, memories and turning them into imagined situations. This network produces chemicals that deny us rest. It does not always allow us to look into the deeper mind where forgotten memories, ancestral wisdom, and connected solutions exist. In these sessions we will practice proven techniques from mind-body medicine that can open a window into this deeper mind, and allow the chance of finding our authentic, but sometimes hidden, wisdom we possess.
Mike Weddle MD PhD has a 30-year career in Emergency, Integrative, Addiction and Mind-Body Medicine. He has taught Mind-Body techniques to groups including retirees and students, doctors and nurses, and psychologists and counselors. He is currently Medical Director of Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.
SUNY Sullivan is presenting this class in collaboration with Sullivan 180.
