President Jay Quaintance invites prospective students interested in beginning their college careers this fall to attend “Discover SUNY Sullivan Day” on Saturday, May 4th. The day begins 11 a.m. in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse, with check-in starting at 10:30.

Discover SUNY Sullivan Day is an opportunity for students who are interested in enrolling at the college to visit the campus, learn about financial aid and the application processes, explore housing options, meet faculty and staff members, and hear about all the fun stuff going on outside of the classroom, including sports, activities and clubs.

Students who bring an official transcript will receive instant acceptance to the college. They can also take any required academic placement tests if necessary, and will leave with their fall schedule of classes.

Discover SUNY Sullivan Day includes lunch, and students and their families can also enjoy the college’s annual Kite Festival, which takes place in the outdoor courtyard area, as well as other activities throughout campus. The Computer Graphics/Graphic Design program will also be hosting an indoor art show, and the Media Arts: Digital Storytelling program will sponsor the Healy Fisher Film Festival in the Seelig Theater.

The Kite Festival includes professional kite flying demonstrations, music, vendors selling jewelry, crafts and food, plus bouncy houses, giant interactive bubble displays, and more. The first 200 children will receive free kites, compliments of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association and SUNY Sullivan. The Kite Festival is free and open to the public.
