New Documentary to be Screened at Sullivan

“Gathering Our Hearts at Standing Rock,” is the latest project by Oscar-nominated and Telly Award-winning director, Fidel Moreno. He will be joined by Wes Gillingham from Catskill Mountainkeeper, and Iris Fen Gillingham of Earth Guardians SUNY Sullivan on Wednesday, April 19th at 6:30 PM in SUNY Sullivan’s Seelig Theater for a viewing of this important and timely film, with a discussion and Q&A to follow.

Culled from 18 hours of interviews with 33 people at Standing Rock, including youth, mothers, grandmothers, grandfathers, First Nation people and non-Indian supporters, “Gathering Our Hearts at Standing Rock” is an ongoing documentary project, chronicling the story of the Water Protectors at Standing Rock and their connection to the history of the American Indian Movement on their treaty-given lands of the American West.

The film is approximately 63 minutes in length, and is followed by a Traditional Water Ceremony and a brief discussion/ Q and A with the director himself.
