SUNY Sullivan’s EMT Basic course provides a hands-on, interactive and engaging learning experience through classroom simulation and field experience.  Learn to assess and care for patients at the scene of an incident and while transporting patients by ambulance to the hospital.  Students learn to manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies.  Our instructors are committed to each student’s success, preparing them for the NYS practical and NYS written certification exams.  EMTs are in high demand, with substantial projected job growth for the future, so begin your Emergency Medical Services Career with SUNY Sullivan now. 

The EMT Basic course will run from June 1, 2022 to August 19, 2022 on the SUNY Sullivan campus. Note: SUNY Mandate requires all students with an on campus presence to be fully vaccinated, as well as to have their first Booster.

The cost of tuition for the EMT Basic is $700. Payment is due in full prior to the start of the course. Exam fees and text materials are the student’s responsibility. If a student is sponsored, following NYS certification, the qualified sponsor may submit a DOH Form 3312 for tuition reimbursement.

Emergency Medical Technician Courses for Spring 2022

SUNY Sullivan is offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Refresher class, February 22 – May 23, 2022 and an Introduction to Emergency Medical Technician Basics, from March 1– May 23, 2022.

SUNY Sullivan’s EMT courses provide hands-on, interactive learning experiences through classroom simulation and field experience. Students will learn to assess and care for patients at the scene of an incident and while transporting patients by ambulance to the hospital. Students will also learn to manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies. Instructors are committed to each students’ success, preparing them for the NYS practical and NYS written certification exams.

Students who enroll in the Refresher course must already be certified Emergency Medical Technicians. At the start of the EMT Refresher course students will take a Challenge Skills Evaluation on February 22 and a Challenge Written Exam on February 23. Depending on the results, students will complete course sessions on the skills which they need to improve.

The EMT Refresher Course and the Basic EMT course will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 pm – 10 pm and Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm. Both courses are in-person on the SUNY Sullivan campus, so please provide proof of your COVID-19 vaccination in order to register.

The cost of tuition for the EMT Basic course is $700.
The cost of tuition for the EMT Refresher course is $335.
