Wolf Lake Neighbors Fund $5K SUNY Sullivan Scholarship

The Wolf Lake Neighbors Foundation (WLNF), in collaboration with the SUNY Sullivan Foundation, proudly announces the 2025 Transfer Scholarship for SUNY Sullivan students. This scholarship aims to support students from the Towns of Thompson and Mamakating in their pursuit of bachelor’s degrees at State University of New York (SUNY) institutions.

The WLNF Transfer Scholarship was established to address the financial challenges faced by academically successful students aiming to continue their education at four-year institutions. This transfer scholarship is designed to assist a student graduating from SUNY Sullivan with an associate’s degree to continue their education when they transfer to a SUNY college to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a State University of New York (SUNY) school.

“The uniqueness of the WLNF Scholarship is that it addresses the financial need of students with a track record of academic success, reducing the financial challenges to furthering their education at a four-year school,” said SUNY Sullivan President David Potash.

Funding for this scholarship is being provided by the Wolf Lake Neighbors Foundation, Inc. (WLNF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2022, and composed of Wolf Lake homeowners engaged in philanthropic activities in the towns of Thompson and Mamakating.

“The Wolf Lake Neighbors Scholarship is a proud example of how local communities can directly invest in the future of their students. It not only eases the financial burden of continuing their education but also inspires recipients to reach higher and give back,” said Jim Gleason, a co-founder and current Board member of the Wolf Lake Neighbors Foundation.

The Wolf Lake Neighbors Foundation Transfer Scholarship award is $5,000 for 2025. Interested students should complete the application and provide a brief essay on their career goals. To be awarded, a recipient must also:
