LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (Aug 31, 2010) – The world is going green. The majority of jobs in the new green economy involve changes to existing jobs. To learn how the greening of America might either affect your current job or open new career doors, you’re invited to SUNY Sullivan’s “Green Learning and Technology Training Opportunities Information Session” on Wednesday, September 8 at 5:15 pm
Sponsored by the college’s office of Workforce Development, Continuing Education, and Lifelong Learning, participants will have an opportunity to find out about courses the college offers that will both help them secure their current jobs and also prepare them for potential green business opportunities.
The information session includes tours, presentations, and small group discussions.
- 5:15 pm – Tours: Geo-Thermal (E building, Seelig Theater lobby) or the Community Garden (C building lobby).
- 6:00 pm – Presentations: Green Future, Green Careers; For Credit Academic Courses; and Professional and Continuing Education (Upper H building, Kaplan Student Union).
- 7:00 pm – Small Group Discussions: College Admissions; Renewable and Efficient Energy/On-line Programs; Electric Cars, Conversion and Maintenance; Green Food Services/Facilities Management; and Green Building Maintenance/Environmental Science (Upper H building, Kaplan Student Union).
- 7:30 pm – Green Resources. Explore the college library’s “green” articles, reference books and brochures (E building, Grover M. Hermann Library).
