SUNY Sullivan Careers

Where Your Work Shapes the Community.

SUNY Sullivan is the only institution of higher education in Sullivan County. Rooted in the Catskill region and committed to expanding access and opportunity for the people who live here, SUNY Sullivan is an open access mission-driven institution. Our faculty and staff are neighbors, mentors, and community builders who take personal pride in the success of every student who walks through our doors.

We hire across a range of roles: full-time faculty and professional staff, civil service positions, part-time support roles and adjunct instructors.

Benefits Built for the Long Run

Full-time employees have access to the New York State retirement system, comprehensive medical coverage, college-paid life and disability insurance, and dental and vision coverage. We also offer flexible spending accounts, voluntary supplemental coverage, and an annual financial incentive for employees who carry coverage through another plan.

Time Off That Means Something

SUNY Sullivan observes 16 paid holidays each year. Eligible positions include paid vacation, sick time, personal days, bereavement leave, and dedicated paid time for cancer screenings. Faculty positions are 10-month appointments with no summer or winter break requirement.

More Than a Job - A Community Investment

SUNY Sullivan serves students who are often first-generation college-goers, career changers, veterans, and working adults building better futures for their families. When you work here, you're part of that story.

A Place Worth Showing Up To

Our 405 acre campus sits in one of the most beautiful regions in the Northeast — and offers something most employers can't: an affordable community with a lower cost of living than the greater NYC metro, surrounded by outdoor recreation, open space, and a strong sense of place.

On campus, employees have access to fitness facilities, walking and nature trails, a community garden, volleyball courts, a weekly wellness hour, and regular community events.

Room To Grow

We take learning seriously for our staff, not just our students. Employees can take classes at SUNY Sullivan at no cost, and those enrolled in degree programs at other SUNY institutions may qualify for tuition reimbursement. Our Employee Assistance Program covers financial guidance, legal services, career support, and professional training — free and confidential for every employee.

How to Apply

Most positions require a cover letter, résumé, and contact information for three professional references. Faculty positions also require a statement of teaching philosophy. All applicants may be subject to a background check.

SUNY Sullivan is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, military obligations, or marital status.
