“I never give up on making myself better. If a problem gets too stressful, I step away for a bit or try doing other assignments and then get back to it. I remind myself that help will always be there for me, I just have to ask for it.“

SUNY Sullivan is proud to announce the world premiere of LORCA EATS BULLETS, a play about the trials of war written by SUNY Sullivan's own Nick López. The production will be performed in the Seelig Theatre on the SUNY Sullivan campus and streamed live on YouTube. Performances will run from November 6-14, Wednesday through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Cherelle rarely needs assistance with work but attends her Success Workshop without fail; she arrives early, is prepared to get her work done, and is even willing to help others.

"I need to have time set aside to study...days can fill pretty quickly even without school, so I know that having these sessions can be a great benefit! It's also really helpful to have someone that can sit in during these sessions for any help or advise. I'm just really appreciative that Sullivan provides these classes...
If you're someone like me who is returning to school after a very long time, you know how important and valuable "time" can be. I need to always apply myself to whatever it is I'm doing for that very reason. It's never too late! Prioritize the things that are important. Don't procrastinate, because the world will pass you by. Have short term goals, as well as long term goals because it's the "little wins" that will keep you motivated for the long haul goals. And hopefully with all that I am working hard for... my goal of becoming a nurse will become a reality!"

SUNY Sullivan Offers Free Tutoring Services

Eyes on the prize…Congratulations to Latima Sutton for being another SUNY Sullivan student making progress toward her goal. Latima has a full-time job and a family to look after and still makes time every week to work with the Learning Commons tutors. “Every day is another chance to change your life. Currently I am majoring in health science. Nursing is my next step. My tutoring sessions have helped me get ahead in statistics.“

Sullivan County Public Health will hold a drive-through flu shot clinic on October 15 from 11am to 2pm at the SUNY Sullivan Fieldhouse parking lot (112 College Road, Loch Sheldrake). Join us tonight at 8pm for a live staged reading of Act One of Alexander Ramati’s AND THE VIOLINS STOPPED PLAYING, a staged reading of Alexander Ramati’s harrowing biographical novel set during the dark days of World War II. Adapted by Jessica López-Barkl, Associate Professor of Theater and Speech, the premiere performance will stream live via YouTube. The play will be performed by an international cast of actors participating from 6 countries, 6 states, and 7 time zones.

Act Two will follow tomorrow night at 8pm.
