CLASS REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Must pass drug test & DOT physical

The curriculum for both the Class A and Class B courses meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) theory requirements and prepare students for the required knowledge and skills tests to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.

  • Safe Operating Procedures
  • Advanced Operating Procedures
  • Vehicle Systems & Reporting Malfunctions
  • Non-Driving Activities

CDL REFRESHER TRAINING

(10-Hour Class | $550)

The Refresher course is designed to strengthen existing knowledge, skills, and driving techniques of those who possess a Class A or Class B driver’s license who may lack driving experience and/or who have not operated a commercial motor vehicle for an extended period of time.

Topics include:

  • DOT Regulations
  • Defensive Driving
  • Accident Prevention
  • Vehicle Inspections
  • Backing Maneuvers

A class A license is considered the “universal” CDL, providing the opportunity to drive multiple types of commercial trucks and tractor trailers. A class B license also allows operation of different types of vehicles such as straight trucks and dump trucks, but it is more limiting than a class A CDL.
