SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill a position in its Institutional Research office. The Data Assistant will report to the President and provide support for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- A background or education in Data Science, Data Analysis, or a related field is required.
- The role requires an understanding of modern methods for data management and analysis, as well as experience with large datasets and extraction tools.
- Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and reporting techniques is necessary.
- Experience with data visualization tools is preferred, particularly Tableau.
- Candidates should be able to help analyze and interpret data and reports, and then explain them to an audience that may not be familiar with the data.
- A high level of proficiency with Excel is also required, including advanced features like pivot tables, lookup formulas, and graphics.
- Attention to detail is a key qualification for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Help with college-wide surveys, including creating items, analyzing results, and reporting for specific areas.
- Lead the processing and distribution of the Student Evaluation of Educational Quality (SEEQ).
- Aid in the design and development of Tableau reports and help maintain existing ones.
- Assist the Director of Institutional Research with developing and executing reports, conducting data analyses, and creating ad hoc internal reports for faculty, staff, and leadership.
- Support all institutional analysis and reporting.
- Execute database querying using SQL and Access.
- Assist with providing data support for assessment-related activities or systems as needed.
- Extract, collect, analyze, and summarize institutional data from a variety of sources and tools.
- Assist and support periodic reporting and data needs related to accreditation.
- Develop new reports from the Office of Institutional Research.
- Proofread and edit spreadsheets and reports created by the Office of Institutional Research.
- Maintain the confidentiality of personal information in accordance with college policy.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
