SUNY Sullivan is seeking applicants to fill a part-time adjunct position for the Medical Assistant program in the Health Sciences Department. The individual must possess the ability to teach seated, hybrid, and clinical environments. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, culture of belonging, and an enthusiastic outlook for student success.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s from an accredited institution
- Professional work experience within the field
- License in the subject area, where applicable
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, community college experience is a plus
- Ability to teach various modalities and experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace
- Prior online course instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate/terminal degree preferred
- Experience in higher education
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a course syllabus based on the agreed-upon curriculum and department standards
- Evaluate and assess students on the course learning outcomes
- Provide advisory services for students seeking extra help and career guidance through weekly office hours
- Develop and follow clear and transparent grading practices
- Timely submission of requested grades, attendance records, and academic paperwork by posted deadlines
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and staff population
- Hold appropriate office hours
- Take part as needed in typical activities of a full-time faculty member, including the following: advising/mentoring students, developing curriculum, recruiting students, and attending division and faculty meetings

Salary & Application:
Salary is determined by a candidate’s rank at SUNY Sullivan, based on teaching experience, education, etc. The full salary range is $655 to $740 per contact hour/course credit per semester.
