ABOUT DR. DAVID POTASH
Dr. David Potash, who began his tenure as SUNY Sullivan’s president in summer 2024, brings a career dedicated to enhancing student success and community engagement. Over a decade as president of Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, he significantly increased student achievement, developed new degree and certificate programs, and expanded career programs and apprenticeships. His leadership at Wilbur Wright earned national recognition, including the Padron Award for institutional transformation, the Seal of Excelencia for service to Hispanic students, and the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement. He also established a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Computer Science.

Prior to his presidency, Dr. Potash served as Chief Academic Officer at Curry College, where he focused on strengthening faculty development and learning outcomes. He also held leadership positions within the City University of New York (CUNY) system, managing accreditation, curriculum, and enrollment at Hunter College and Baruch College. His background includes a bachelor’s from Rice University, a master’s from New York University, and a doctorate from Cambridge University.
