SUNY Sullivan College for Educational Enrichment (CEE) program is seeking Classroom Assistants to work with Classroom Instructors for various Fall 2022 evening classes for adult students with developmental disabilities. These classes include Creative Arts & Crafts, Leisure Activities, Painting, Music Appreciation and Participation, Personal Development/Independent Life Skills, Liberal Arts etc.
The CEE program will run through November. Classes meet weekly either on Monday or Wednesday, running from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, with Instructors and Assistants reporting at 6:00 pm to set up, etc.
COVID-19 Vaccination is required
Assistant hourly wage: $14.25. This stipend is paid in total at the end of the semester.
Anticipated Fall Start dates: Monday classes – 9/12/22, Wednesday classes – 9/14/22. The program will run through November 14th (Monday classes) and November 16th (Wednesday classes). Makeup dates will be held on November 21st and November 23rd.
Each class will usually have about 10 students and will include a Classroom Assistant.
Seeking candidates who can create a classroom culture that is welcoming, positive, and devotes the majority of time to instruction and support. The following are position requirements:
- General knowledge and comfort with the class subject area
- Experience working with the developmental disability population preferred
- Good organization and communication skills
- Creative, positive, and energetic disposition
