Adjunct – Business and Hospitality (PT)

SUNY Sullivan is accepting applications for continuous recruitment to fill the part-time, adjunct position with the opportunity to become a full-time Instructor for a tenure-track appointment in the Catskill Hospitality Institute. Applicants will be called upon on an as-needed basis.

Business and Hospitality/Tourism offered within the Catskill Hospitality Institute:

  • Accounting Studies (CERT)
  • Administrative Assistant (AAS)
  • Business Accounting (AAS)
  • Business Administration (AAS)
  • Business Administration (AS)
  • Business Administration Marketing (AAS)
  • Tax Preparer (Micro)
  • Tourism (CERT)
  • Hospitality Tourism Management (AAS)

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Prepare and present a course syllabus based on the agreed-upon curriculum and department standards
  • Evaluate and assess students on the course learning outcomes
  • Provide advisory services for students seeking extra help and career guidance through weekly office hours
  • Developing and following clear and transparent grading practices
  • Timely submitting requested grades, attendance records, and academic paperwork by posted deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD from an accredited institution
  • Professional work experience within the fields of business and/or hospitality
  • License in subject area, where applicable
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Prior teaching at the collegiate level
  • Prior online course instruction
