The Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts returns to SUNY Sullivan’s Seelig Theatre for The Met: Live In HD 2025–26 season on Saturday, November 8, 2025 with a live simulcast of Puccini's timeless and popular masterpiece La Bohème, directed by Franco Zeffirelli and starring soprano Juliana Grigoryan and tenor Freddie De Tommaso; followed by Strauss's elegant and lovely romance, Arabella, on Saturday, November 22, 2025 helmed by legendary director Otto Schenk and starring soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen as the title heroine; SUNY Sullivan is also thrilled to once again present a special encore transmission of the December 30, 2006, performance of Mozart's iconic holiday classic, The Magic Flute, playing on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The 2025–26 Live in HD season also features a revival of Giordano's passionate tragedy, Andrea Chénier, with tenor Piotr Beczała playing the titular character, accompanied by soprano Sonya Yoncheva; the first new Met production of Bellini’s final masterpiece—I Puritani—in nearly 50 years, directed by Charles Edwards and conducted by Marco Armiliato; a special, family-friendly Valentine's Day encore of the 2022 production of Massenet's Cinderella, featuring Isabel Leonard; a new production of Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, starring the iconic soprano Lise Davidsen in the role of Isolde, accompanied by tenor Michael Spyres in the role of Tristan; a riveting revival of Tchaikovsky's lyrical romance, Eugene Onegin, with soprano Asmik Grigorian as the young lovestruck heroine, Tatiana; and lastly, a live transmission of the premiere of American composer Gabriela Lena Frank's first opera, El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego, with libretto by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Nilo Cruz.
