On Friday, May 18th, 2018, SUNY Sullivan will host a Symposium: “Planting the Seeds for a Sustainable Future”, as part of the day’s Inauguration of Jay Quaintance as the Seventh President of SUNY Sullivan.

The Symposium is open to the public, and attendees are asked to RSVP to Maura Caycho in the President’s office at (845) 434-5750, ext. 4261.

Beginning at 9:00am with a Continental Breakfast in E-Lobby, the Symposium will kick off in earnest with a welcome from President Jay Quaintance at 9:30am. SUNY Sullivan’s Interim Director of Sustainability will then emcee, presenting three speakers. The first, beginning at 9:45am, will be Sam Wright, Program Director & Staff Attorney, Water Defense, who will be speaking on “The State of Water”.

Following Mr. Wright will be Rabbi Lawrence Zierler, President/CEO of Sayva Associates, Inc., whose remarks will be on the topic of “Sustaining Safe and Inviting Home Environments: New Ideas for Aging in Place”. He is scheduled to speak at 10:15.

Wendy Gordon, Founder and CEO of 3P Partners, will conclude with “PIPs Rewards: Powering Student Engagement” at 10:45am.

Immediately afterward, sustainability-focused tours will be offered of SUNY Sullivan’s Campus, and Hope Farm, departing from the E-Lobby.
