SUNY Sullivan and Sullivan 180 Present Free Online Mental Health and Wellness Course for Parents

SUNY Sullivan’s Community Learning Program is partnering with Sullivan 180 to present a free, online course designed to address concerns from parents who are looking for ways to help and understand the challenges their children and students are facing during the pandemic.

“Intro to Mental Health and Wellness for Parents,” is being offered Monday, November 29 from 12–2 pm on Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent prior to the date of the class. This introductory workshop will provide:

– A working definition of mental health and trauma

– An understanding of protective and risk factors for mental illness, warning signs in children and teens of a mental health challenge or traumatic stress response

– Tips on how to speak with your child about mental health and how to help them

– Tips for self-care

– Resources available in Sullivan County to access help
