SUNY Sullivan BIT (Behavioral Intervention Team)

Mission Statement

“This team has been formed to serve the college community as a resource for referring students of concern. The overarching goal of the BIT is prevention of violence and creation of a safe campus through communication and coordination of interventions. The BIT process does not replace classroom management, the disciplinary process, or security responses to incidents. This is meant to provide faculty and staff with the opportunity to report at-risk behavior where a student’s mental health may be a contributing factor and they may be at risk to themselves or others socially, mentally, and/or physically.”
