Programs of Study

Liberal Arts & Sciences

Degree: AS  |  Graduation Requirements: 61 credits

Program Summary:

The Associate in Science degree program is a two-year program suited for those who plan to transfer to a four-year school with a major in science, mathematics or another STEM-related field. The course requirements are flexible to accommodate the broad interest of our students. To ensure a seamless transfer, however, students are strongly encouraged to choose a concentration of study. There are currently three specialized concentrations (Biology, Health Sciences, and Mathematics) and one general concentration (Science).

Students entering this program should have completed college preparatory courses while in high school. Three years of Regents-level science, mathematics, and/or their equivalent are recommended. A student with less preparation may require more time to complete the degree.

Program Learning Outcomes:
Graduates of the Liberal Arts and Sciences AS will have demonstrated:
• Students will demonstrate essential and foundational knowledge in the natural sciences and/or mathematics
• Students will interpret mathematical information and/or scientific data to solve
problems and/or develop logical conclusions
